Despite all the doom and gloom, Dubai is still a great place to be. Why? Well, how about:
1. All year round sunshine – Winter only lasts about a month in Dubai; June to September is scorching, but the rest of the year the climate is very pleasant indeed. 2. No tax – Self-explanatory really, no tax equals more money for you. Nice. 3. Low crime – One of the top five safest cities in the world, with a very efficient police force. 4. High standard of living - Great weather; lovely beaches; vibrant nightlife; safe, clean environment; countless leisure activities, all in a dynamic setting. 5. Breathtaking architecture – From the Burj al Arab to the rotating skyscraper and the Burj Dubai, Dubai is full of incredible buildings. 6. Shopping, shopping, shopping – If you like to shop Dubai's the place to be. Featuring the world's largest shopping mall (the Dubai Mall), the Mall of the Emirates, the Deira City Center and Ibn Battuta, as well as the traditional souks, you'll never be short of places to spend your tax-free earnings.
And as soon as the recession is over it will bounce back with a vengeance. |

Just heard about the inauguration of this Burj Dubai, the world's newest tallest building. Can't believe it's 800 meters tall. That's just unbelievable. I've got to see it for myself.
